Account: your username, email address and a one-way hash of your password (we never store the password itself).

Personal information you choose to add: gender, phone number, country, region, city, postal code and address line. All optional. We do not ask for your legal name, date of birth or any ID number.

Expert profiles: display name, profile text, picture, services, prices, availability, service areas and, for in-person work at the expert’s location, a meeting address.

Bookings: the service, time, price and, for in-person bookings, the service address.

Payments, once enabled: the amount, status and the payment provider’s transaction references. Card and mobile-banking details are entered on the payment provider’s page and are not stored by ExpertyBD.

Messages between a customer and an expert, including any files sent; video-call connection details (who joined, when, and network information needed to connect). Calls are not recorded.

Support tickets, reviews, notifications, and payout details for experts (a bank or bKash account number, stored encrypted).

Technical data: IP address and request logs, used for security and rate limiting, and two strictly necessary cookies (your sign-in session and an anti-forgery token). We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

To run your account and the marketplace: showing listings, handling bookings and payments, letting the two people in a booking talk, paying experts, resolving disputes and providing support; and to keep the service secure.

The other person in a booking sees what they need: an expert sees the customer’s username, and the address of an in-person booking only once it is paid; a customer sees the expert’s profile, and the expert’s meeting address only once paid.

Administrators see what they need to run and moderate the service; their actions are logged.

Service providers: our hosting provider, and the payment provider once online payment is enabled (it receives your name, email, phone and address to process the payment). An email provider will receive your email address once email is enabled.

We do not sell personal data. At launch no personal data is sent to any artificial-intelligence service.

ExpertyBD runs on servers rented from DigitalOcean. The servers are located outside Bangladesh; the exact location will be stated here.

Read notifications are deleted after 180 days and all notifications after 365 days. Messages, support tickets, bookings, payments and reviews are currently kept without a fixed end date, because they may be needed for disputes, refunds and accounting.

You can see and change your personal information in your profile, and clear any optional field. To ask for a copy of your data or for your account to be closed, contact Support.

Passwords are hashed with Argon2id, payout account numbers are encrypted, all traffic uses HTTPS, and administrators use two-factor authentication for sensitive actions. No system is perfectly secure; we will tell affected users about a breach as the law requires.
